Scrooby’s Illuminate 2018

Scrooby Illuminate Event

Thursday 22nd November 2018

Bassetlaw District Council’s Illuminate event this year will take place in the historic village of Scrooby, with its renowned Pilgrim connections.

The event will begin with a service at St. Wilfrid’s Church at 5pm, including a talk by historian Sue Allan on ‘The Forgotten Pilgrim Women’, followed by a recital from
Scrooby Manor’s own Kamilla Dunstan.

At 6:15pm there will be a lantern parade around the village with local uniformed groups, ending at the Village Hall.

At the Village Hall, students from Retford’s Elizabethan Academy will perform an interpretive drama about the Pilgrim Children’s journey.

Refreshments will be served.

Please RSVP to Sandra Withington – sandra.withington@bassetlaw.gov.uk

Would you like to make a lantern & participate in the Parade?

Artist Jessica Kemp will be at Scrooby Village Hall on Monday 29th October from 1pm until 5pm and everyone, regardless of age or ability, is invited to drop by and learn how to make their own star lantern. All materials are provided and the event is free.Scrooby Illuminate 2018
